Turkey Trot!

IMG_7869.JPG

We were in the Turkey Trot again this year! Only this time, we went a little over the top.

I’m in there somewhere, holding up a rake. Have of the fun of the 5k/10k race is the costumes! People dress as reindeer, santa, elves, spongebob, turkeys, even flamingos!

This year we decided to race as a Chinese-inspired dragon, which turned out to be a lot of work (we didn’t finish the 10K, only the 5K) but the kiddies loved us. I just couldn’t see much of where I was going!

If you’ve always wanted to race but were afraid (to ask) then the Turkey Trot is a good local event to start with. There’s even a Mashed Potato Mile. This year wasn’t as cold as last year…

I am so sorry I missed this. You really ran in that costume, rake and all? Do you get to eat mashed potatoes at the end of the “Mashed Potato” mile? If so, count me in next year :0)
