Clean Downtown Program
The Downtown Detroit Partnership’s “Clean Downtown” program just finished it’s first six months of operation and now will go into the winter months with a reduced staff. Beginning this month, a smaller crew will maintain the DBD and return it’s full staff in April. Since June 8th, they removed over 80 tons of trash from our streets and parks. Great job guys!
it’s a shame that our downtown had 80 tons of trash to be removed…but yet i still see more every day. call me a nerd but littering is a pet peeve and i just can’t even imagine walking down the street and simply dropping garbage on the ground.
I think it’s much easier to imagine when you already see a lot of litter on the ground. Hopefully the new program will put an end to that.
Perhaps I just do not venture too far outside downtown, but the main streets downtown are some of the cleanest I have seen in many cities.
