One of my favorite metro D suburbs, fashionable Ferndale, is wrapping up its fourth annual Holiday Ice Festival today. The event, which runs from 10 am – 8 pm, features more than 65 ice sculptures and, of course, a visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus. Free parking is available in downtown Ferndale all day and shops will be open late.

Stick around or go back this evening for an afterglow at one of Ferndale’s best spots, The WAB (Woodward Avenue Brewers) from 8 – 11 pm. Enjoy appetizers and raffles at the afterglow, which will benefit the Ferndale Fine Arts Boosters and Gleaners Community Food Bank. Cover is a monetary donation to Ferndale Fine Arts Boosters or a canned good for Gleaners The WAB will donate $1 for each pint purchased to one of the charities. Click here for a map of the event.
