Countdown to Valentine’s Day, 12

You may impress your Valentine in Detroit by planning a trip to Eastern Market on Saturday morning. Get a copy of a recipe and plan on cooking dinner together Saturday night. No skill needed, you’ll get an A for effort, and the city has plenty of restaurants in case of disaster. Be sure to stop by Cost Plus and pick up some wine or sparkling juice, for us non-drinkers.

look’s like someone is really excited about February 14th. will you be throwing a Valentine’s Eve party?…or maybe just getting to bed early, eagerly waiting to see what Cupid left for you on Valentine’s morning? the President should host a Valentine’s Day heart hunt on the Whitehouse lawn. just joking…it’s nice to see people enjoy the nice annual event’s that have nothing to do with race, religion or gender.

Well, I am actually excited about the day. I spent too many years hating the holiday because I was selfish and didn’t believe I had anyone to celebrate it with. This year like many others, I do not have one other person to celebrate it with, but I am celebrating it with Hallmark and numerous other romantics. Some of my friends are persisting in throwing a “Day of Shattered Dreams and Broken Promises” party though, and to that I say “any excuse for food and drink is a good one.”
