Hockey Day In Michigan

Whew! In addition to everything else coming up this weekend, i.e. Winter Blast, The Dirty Show and Valentines Day next week, now we have a hockey event this Saturday. No, not the Red Wings vs. Calgary that night but all day long. It is the second annual Hockey Day in Michigan.

While I’m at it, here are some other hockey notes worth mentioning.

Mike Vernon’s number “30” was retired last night in Calgary before the game against Chicago. He was a great goalie and was MVP in 97′ when we ended our 42 year drought and won the Stanley Cup. Vernon was kind of like the Clinton of hockey. You either liked him or you didn’t. No in between. Congratulations Mike!
