“Pierced Love” featuring Avalon Bakery
This is not the type of film one would expect from a group with religious affiliations, but the Metro Detroit Christian Church (MDCC) is making a coming of age film about a tattoo artist starting a life outside white suburbia when she falls in love with a deaf, African American poet who frequents Avalon Bakery in Midtown. A fundraiser for “Pierced Love”, featuring jazz musician Clay Robinson, will be held in Farmington Hills tomorrow night – Saturday, March 3rd. I really like body art and piercings; and, I am not quite sure where in Detroit people go to get such things done. Most people I know have adorned themselves in the suburbs. I hope at least the film will be released in Detroit proper.
