Last Night

I know it’s hard for you to believe but I have been to only three concerts in my life and last night was the third one. That’s right, Bob Seger at the Joe. Oh my, what a great time it was. 22,000 screaming fans listened to Seger and his band belt out all our favorites plus a few new tunes. Wish you had been there when he sat down at the piano for “We’ve Got Tonight.” Following that, sniff, sniff, came the Alto Reed written “Turn the Page.” That was worth the price of the tickets right there. Seger returned for three, unbelievable encores blasting out “Katmandu” and “Hollywood Nights.” Always the quinticential show man, I think Bob Seger is even better now, at almost 62, than he was twenty years ago. There are two more concerts at Cobo Arena this week. If you’re going, I have to tell you, you are in for a treat.

with a heading like “Last Night” and authored by the mighty Double R i was ready to read a break down of the State of the City speech. anyone catch it? before i spill my thoughts i’d like someone else to get the ball rolling.
p.s. missed the Seger show. i’m mildly a fan of the music but after i met him briefly several years back and he came across as less than friendly i will stick to catching a tune on the ol’ FM for my fill.
