Club Bart

Anyone looking to catch a great Detroit band should check out The Deadstring Brothers, as they bring their tour back home to Club Bart in Ferndale on Wednesday night, opening band @8:00PM. What to expect? Without unnecessarily trying to categorize them, expect Alt-country meets the Rolling Stones; read – a good time. Plus I have heard the food is worth the trip alone. Club Bart is located at 22726 Woodward Ave. Ferndale, MI 48067

Is their sound like the Old 97s?

the Deadstring Brothers are so good. i’ve known Kurt and Masha from the band for years. Kurt used to be in a band called Crossed Wire a long time ago which was also a fantastic band. and now that “alt.country” is the new black they’re sure to be huge stars in no time. check them out for sure.

I can’t wait to see the show, especially because a Canadian band is opening up for them.

if you like Canadian alternative country please tell me that you’re a Neko Case fan. if not then go buy her record “The Tigers Have Spoken” and you will be. she’s from Toronto but has an old school Loretta Lynn thing going on. it’s red hot

I must admit that I was only at the show because a friend was playing and that the only reason I was excited about the opening band was because I am Canadian. I am always the first to ignorantly admit that I like all music except country, but I have to say that the Deadstring Brothers’ performance was pretty hot and that this country was thoroughly enjoyable. Max, thanks for the suggestions to support my fellow countrypeople.
