Summer Reading
Detroit native A. Alfred Taubman’s memoir entitled “Threshold Resistance: The Extraordinary Career of a Luxury Retailing Pioneer” was recently published by Harper Collins. According to the website, the book explores Taubman’s Jewish background, his battle with dyslexia, his upbringing in Detroit, his philanthropy, and his experiences as a federal prisoner at the age of 78. I look forward to learning about the man whose name emblazons many important cultural and academic institutions in this region.
