I have only read a few of Oprahs books, mostly because i have two very active young boys, but i found those to be interesting. i grew up not far from Detroit in toledo. Maybe I will grab this one. I was looking for comments on it and have found positive and negative but i think I’ll give it a try. As someone in publishing I can only dream that a book I acquire will one day bear the Oprah seal of approval. I am very excited to see if this book will conjure a fascination with the city, which I’m hoping will translate into some tourism dollars.

To give Oprah some credit, occasionally she picks out some really good books. I (reluctantly) admit that I read a copy of John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” that had her logo on the book cover and thoroughly enjoyed the book.
