Coffee and Sushi

This weekend was one of the best I’ve spent in the city as coffee and sushi are a few of my favorite things. I spent Friday night dining on some beautiful and delicious sushi at the funky, but classy, Asian Village, which overlooked the River Days festival. This weekend only the sushi and coffee bars were open, but I hear that there will be other Asian food offerings very soon. There are very few rolls on the menu; however, they include the delightful Pink Cadillac and Hummer rolls each wrapped in pink and yellow seaweed respectively. I would love to have seen a roll with salmon in it, but the disappointment didn’t last too long as the California and Spider Rolls were absolutely divine. From the rooftop you could see the entire festival. This will be the place to be for the fireworks, and they are selling tickets on the website.

I was a little surprised to find that a good portion of the restaurants and shops were closed Saturday evening when there were TONS of people all over downtown. Is this an oversight or businesses felt that staying open would be a losing bet?
