City Club

City Club is one that I went to for the first time earlier this year. I was back there again this past weekend. This venue is fitted with a bar and dance floor and targeted to the Gothic lifestyle. The place was not particularly packed on either occasion, but it is great that the city caters to minority tastes. While I do not fall into the Goth category in any way, shape, or form, I do own a lot of black and love to dance. This club is friendly and everyone is welcome. I am very much for diversity in all forms and I’m glad that Detroit is a place that allows for alternative expression.

that place is awesome. while i haven’t been there in a few years at one point i was there almost every Saturday night. i started going there before the name was changed to the City Club from it’s original name which was the Leidernacht (that is probably not even close to the correct spelling, haha).

I put it into freetranslation.com and came up with “Unfortunate Night”.

yep, looking back i can say i’ve had of few of those there. but overall my memories of the place from many years ago are very cool. i’ve met some beautiful girls and been turned on to some very good bands because of the place. and on a side note there used to be a nasty, half filled, alged covered pool attached (it’s gone now) and my skateboard friends and i drained and skated it. one of the worst pools i’ve ever skated but at least i can say i did it, right?
