Outrageous ATM Fees

ATMs are highly convenient and highly aggravating. I have seen fees range anywhere from $1.50 to $3.50 per transaction. On Wednesday night, I was at the Fillmore – which will always be State Theatre to me – and I was charged $5.00, which is ludicrous. What is the highest fee you’ve ever encountered in the D?

I know that the fees at the casino always shock me half to death. Of course, it’s a supply and demand kind of thing, and I don’t remember exactly how much they are, but it’s outrageous. I also recall a sticker on the machine stating it will allow you to charge your withdrawl if you’ve gone over your ATM card limit – for a fee of twenty-some dollars.

$10.00, 2002 Detroit International Auto Show. I ended up not even attending due to the outrageous fee. They did not accept credit/debit cards at that time.
