i don't think it's as much a country music thing as much as it's an "all day event" thing. think about what it would be like if they decided to have Ozz-fest at Comerica Park.

I made the mistake of trying to go downtown at about 11pm, right as this event got out. I have *NEVER* been in such bad traffic, not only were thing a complete gridlock downtown but these concert goers/cowboys are terribly rude drivers. There were a few 2 way streets that become one way streets as the pickup truck drivers raced to the expressways. Nobody was letting anyone merge and people were blocking traffic lights.

Someone should have told these fans not to drink and get behind the wheel, as many obviously were.

The only time traffic in Detroit becomes unbearable is when any kind of country concert happens downtown, whether it's the hoedown or this.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of the "new pop-country" either, they are a blast to go to and hang out at. It's definitely a "drink on the beach/ Jimmy Buffet" type atmosphere, and I love it! I get it that it's not everyones scene, but if your going with a group of friends I think its a pretty chill place to hang out. Max, if your interested, I know there having Can-Am Spyder test rides in Utica. Maybe that's more your style! Those things look pretty cool and you can sign up to test ride one here: http://spyder.brp.com/en-US/TrySpyder/Take.The.Tour/Index.htm

My roommate will be there. She bought a new cowboy hat for the occasion.

I can't say I'm a fan, but I can agree that listening to this music makes me want to grab a beer...
