The Dally in the Alley

The Dally in the Alley was held this past weekend in midtown. I absolutely love this festival and how it brings together the new students at Wayne State, young families from the city, and creative types from all over to celebrate the art, culture, institutions, and spirit of the city. The grills were fired up, the beverages flowing, the selection of Detroit clothing was dangerous, and there is nothing quite like dancing in the streets. Parking was a hassle and a half as usual but quite worth it. The downpour right at midnight was a great conclusion to the night packing all the surrounding bars and restaurants. I just wish the festival was a day longer.

I was impressed by the selection of Detroit themed clothing. My favorite was the “Little Mis Detroit” t-shirt. There was some really cute jewelry there as well. You always find the most unique pieces at festivals like Dally.

I loved that shirt. The Pure Detroit selection was good for one’s basics, love the Roller Derby Girls gear, and the People Mover stuff was great too. Bygbaby has a picture of the really cute stuffed fish that captured my fancy.
