Presents, presents, lovely presents
I really enjoy giving gifts. It is one of my favorite things about Christmas, birthdays and holidays in general. I don’t even really like getting gifts myself — except when they are from my husband. Somehow, he always manages to get me the best gifts and to surprise me the most.
Two years ago, it was a hand-bound silk-covered book chronicling my Girl in the D blog entries. Last year, it was my very first puppy, Bagley. I thought it would be difficult to top these gifts, so I wasn’t planning on receiving anything super-special from him this Christmas.
Boy was I wrong. More after the jump …
Given the square-shaped box it was wrapped in, I thought the gift was a scrapbook, a coffee table book or a jigsaw puzzle. So, you can imagine my surprise when I unwrapped the paper and discovered a brand new Mac Book Pro! I’ve fooled around with it a little bit, but cannot wait until things settle down around my house so that I can spend some real time getting to know more about this cool machine (this is my first Mac.)
I would love to hear about the best gift you received this holiday. Who was it from?
My favorite present is such a weird one. My super smart mom got me a rack that sits by the kitchen sink that holds soap and lotion. It’s my favorite because something I didn’t ask for, that I really like/need, and it smells so great.
See? Weird.
while i can’t compete with April describing her rack for us (pun intended) i, too got some cool presents: how about a can of Olde Frothingslosh beer from 1969 and a monkey skull…true story.
