Dress For the Season!

Come on, Detroit! I know that we’re excited to be experiencing this January heat wave, and that we can relax on the caps and mittens, but it’s still January (in Michigan no less) and we’ve got to learn to dress accordingly. Even with a 60ish couple of days, it’s still WINTER! I wish that I had started to keep count because since my Sunday trip to the closed-on-Sunday-even-though-it’s-the-day-before-classes-WSU-Bookstore I have seen at least 15 people in full summer attire. I’m talking shorts, t-shirts, and even a tiny child in sandals. That’s right, someone let their child out in the winter in open toed shoes. My grandmother would faint right now if I told her. We Michiganders need to start appreciating our seasonal wear and not go digging for the cutoffs when the temperature goes a little crazy.

I have a feeling that next time Channel 4 does the “What’s Going Around” segment – there are gonna be some cases of Pneumonia in metro Detroit – and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a few of them in the past couple of days.
