While researching this entry, I did a quick google search for Willie Horton and came up with the wikipedia page on Willie Horton. He’s a convicted felon who was part of the 1988 Presidential Election. Fortunately, that’s not our Willie Horton. There was a short-lived gallery on the immediate corner of Forest and Woodward in a lovely purple building. I was hoping that this sweet space would be converted to a Tim Horton

I hate waking up in the morning. The little processor in my head takes a little while to boot. Since I was in highschool, my friends have learned to create a little cacoon of sensory deprivation when I wake up to keep me from killing someone.

But there is a solution: coffee. The nectar of the gods. The sweet warm sweat of nirvana. Coffee’s smell and warmth are a little hug with a buzz that reassure me that everything will be alright. There are a lot of good shops and holes in the wall in which one can get one’s fix, but if you are just driving around and you see a “TIm Hortons,” you will end up with a good cup of joe. It is a chain that crawls through Canadia, michigan and I think even Ohio; but even though they are a chain, they actually have a good brew, unlike McDonalds or any of he other chains.

Here’s to you Tim Horton, I lift my leaky cardboard cup in gratitude!
