On Saturday, UT and I explored the Heidelberg Project, an outdoor art installation. It is one of those things that people in Detroit either love or hate. A couple times, the city tried to destroy Heidelberg but it has survived and continued to grow.

For me it represents the color that exists beneath the surface of Detroit. It is hope that things will be better no matter what challenges or hardships are placed in front of it.

If you haven’t visited Heidelberg, you should just so you can decide what you think of it. Or you can check out Tyree’s exhibit at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History through October 30th.
