Don’t Call It A Comeback

Hmmm… just an interesting evening.

What does it say when an incumbent mayor polls at 39% (39!!) the week before the election, and he wins 53% of the vote?

It says to me that the POLLS SUCK. ‘New Rule’, as Bill Maher says: never, ever trust Detroit polls.

Good for the Mayor. I didn’t vote for him, mind you. Living here and seeing/hearing the stuff that has gone on behind the scenes has pissed me off. Combine that with a horrid rep outside the city (yes, Virginia, we ignored Time’s declaration that he was one of America’s 3 worst Mayors) and it was a no-brainer.

As MGal says, I look forward to see how the new Council gets along with the Mayor. It had better be DAMN better than it has.

OK, Mr. Mayor. You got your 4 more years. You got your Klieg lights on February 6.

Give us everything you got – honestly – and we’re behind you.
