NBA: all class, all the time
During Pistons introductions last night, the Sacramento Kings ran a series of “Detroit” images on the big screen — abandoned buildings, garbage-filled streets, burnt out cars. Owners Joe and Gavin Maloof were unaware; the video was attributed to the game operations director. Maloof Sports & Entertainment said that it was a mistake and wouldn’t happen again (see the full Detroit News story here).
Following Detroit’s 102-88 win, Chauncey said, “I bet they don’t do that again.”
Edit: Here’s an update on that story from the November 10th Free Press (thanks for the tip, Mike)
I heard on the radio today that Sacremento has taken out full page appology adds in the Freepress. Is this enough of an appology? How did this even happen in the first place? The Kings are going to be in town December 14th. How will the fans react? I am planning on attending that game!
