Leafy tornadoes

Yesterday afternoon, my boyfriend and I played our regular sunday afternoon petanque games. The wind was so strong at times that thrown boules weren’t going where we wanted them to. You could watch the boule move mid-air with a strong gust of wind. It was a riot but also made for some sloppy petanque games. The ground game wasn’t so bad.

The piste had just been raked so every good gust of wind sent a little tornado of leaves across the piste. More than a few times a stick or leaf affected the play. Yet we still had fun.

The strong winds kept up most of the night. GD lost power at his place briefly in the afternoon. I fell asleep listening to the wind howl outside my 15th floor apartment. It is definitely a weird noise that high up, especially as the building seems to shake just a bit.
