Wake Up, Start Dreaming
I love music. I’m actually a professional vocalist with 15 years in the jingle business. I’m the former lead singer of a touring funk band, with a few CDs and some very cool gigs to my credit. I’ve been around this block more than once, and seen and heard a LOT of music. So, when I put my stamp of approval on something, I do it with the utmost of forethought and sincerity.
So, take it to heart when I say this: Liz Larin is the best local act I’ve ever seen.
I attended her CD release party on Saturday night, and saw her band for the first time. I came away with the most enjoyable night of music I can remember in a long time. Everything was right — the band was ultra-tight, the mix was perfect and NOT too loud at all, and the music was seriously rockin’. Bob Tye on guitar so impressed me that I was honestly mouth agape, eyes wide open. And Liz… well, Liz is amazing accurate and, frankly, stunningly beautiful. They put on a remarkable show. When a band smiles through a gig – real, fun smiles – you know you’re getting the best they have, cause they love being up there.
The new album, “Wake Up, Start Dreaming”, is available starting tomorrow at Borders and local stores, as well as online. PLEASE pick up a copy, and come see her perform live.
With talent this good, it should not be ignored.
Tell us about the mudshark again, Daddy.
