Come Unto Me: The Faces of Tyree Guyton

Regardless of how you feel about the Heidelberg Project; one must admit that it elicits a rather strong reaction. Prior to watching the documentary “Come Unto Me” I was one who did not appreciate the project for art’s sake but it had me talking. However, after the film and after speaking to those who work for the project, I have comes to see that the Heidelberg Project is not a stagnant piece of art but an ever-changing project meant to inspire the community. Heidelberg’s 20th anniversary is coming up this year and one might wonder what the big deal is. In the words of Jenenne Whitfield “survival in Detroit for 20 years is the big deal.”
