Free Press Video about the Packard Plant

On the Free Press website this morning I found a pretty cool video (with narration) of the Packard Plant and it’s history. You can view the video at the Free Press’ website.

The Packard plant is really a fascinating and sad peice of Detroit urban decay. If you don’t know exactly what I’m talking about, you can see it off of I-94 as you head from downtown to the eastern suburbs. If you want a closer view, you can find it on West Grand Boulevard (you can’t miss it, it’s huge).

The plant is still fun to go see. I took my dad down there last year (hes from outta town). We stopped the car and walked around peering in windows. Next on the stop is an old Lincoln plant that I have not pin pointed yet. I heard that there are still engine blocks sitting in there!
