Bye-bye Jack?
Spin magazine reported earlier today that White-Stripes frontman-Jack White has put his historic mansion in Indian Village up for sale.
According to the website for the home — 1731seminole.com — it is a nearly-6000-square foot Colonial designed by Detroit’s C. Howard Crane. It has four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and walk-in closet, as well as many other features like Pewabic tile and a koi pond in the backyard. Spin magazine says it also has a red, white and black laundry room.
The home is only being shown by appointment to pre-approved buyers.
The list price is $930,000. Summer taxes are currently $16,761 and winter taxes are $2771. Oh, and there’s an association fee, too.
$930,000 is a deal on a house that size. The same house down in the Windmill Pointe (in GPP) would sell for $3 million or something insane like that.
Anyone know if Meg still lives off Forrest and Trumbull?
Where is he going?
Apparently, he is already gone. I read an article a few weeks ago in the Detroit News that he had already moved to Nashville with his wife and their daughter. The same article alleged that during some of his recent performances with the Raconteurs he had introduced himself as being from there, rather than from Detroit. Not sure what’s up with that…the article mentioned something about him being tired of the negativity surrounding the Detroit rock scene.
