What to do with an abandoned building . . .
I recently got back from visiting my parents. The town in which they live has preserved an old building in a rather unconventional way. They gutted the two story structure, preserving the original brick by reinforcement beams. They laid a slab of concrete, and now the city rents it out for parties, weddings, and I think it would be ideal for an open marketplace. This seems like a feasible idea for some of Detroit’s otherwise not in use structures.
