One of Detroit’s biggest cheerleaders, Jaime has been living in Detroit for five years. She started her blog, Girl in the D, in September 2004 to inform others about positive things going on in the Motor City, and completed her Master's thesis, "Growth Opportunities for the city of Detroit", and a Master's Degree in Administration, in December of 2004. A former securities broker and operations director of a small retirement planning firm in Royal Oak, Jaime left corporate America in 2007 to pursue a career in freelance writing. Jaime is active in the community and sits on the board of City Living Detroit, a non-profit dedicated to promoting living in the city. She and her husband are expecting their fist child in June 2008.
